Paul Anderson

Captain Paul grew up fishing and hunting in the woods of Wisconsin. After Graduating high school my sense of adventure took over and I left for Florida, where I worked at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, one of the highest rated 5 star hotels in world. Working at the Ritz taught me the high standards of customer service that I bring with me to yachting. While living in Florida my love of the sea grew, I learned to dive and started taking photography course. After a few years in Florida I left for Chattanooga Tennessee to open a restaurant.

In Tennessee I joined the National Guard serving as a gunner on an Abrams tanks. When not working at my restaurant or training with the Guard I would spend my time hiking through the Smoky Mountains having hiked over 300 miles of the Appalachian trail. After years of working and hiking the sea started calling my name again, I applied for the Marine biology program at the University of the Virgin Islands and moved to the island and purchased my first sailboat an Endeavor 37 2015. During my time At UVI studying marine Biology I was able to intern for Oceans Research in South Africa for a summer working with great white sharks and whales. After graduating I combined my love of the ocean and sailing and started working on yachts traveling from Grenada to Boston.

I can’t wait to make you an amazing cocktail and share with you my love of the sea while we are moored in a beautiful bay here in the USVI.


Zoe Leppard

Hi, I'm Zoe! I am a dual citizen of Canada and the US, and grew up on a 48-foot wooden sailboat. We sailed the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, the West and East Coasts of the US & Canada, Central America, Colombia, and finally from British Columbia through the Panama Canal to Nova Scotia where I went to high school. It was while sailing that I discovered my love and passion for food. At age 12 I began cooking dinner for my family each night. I then attended the Culinary Institute of Canada and graduated with a 2 year diploma in Culinary Arts.
My first job upon graduation was on St John, USVI at a restaurant called Ocean362. I lived there for about 8 months and then left the island right before Irma and Maria hit. Since then, I have worked at several other fine dining restaurants and bakeries in cities such as West Palm Beach, Nantucket, & San Diego and landed at my last job which was chef on an 88-foot charter sport fishing boat. I’m no stranger to the ocean, and combining my love of food and being on the water makes a job not even seem like one at times! With my 100T captain license and excellent charter culinary experience, I look forward to welcoming guests aboard Adventure Us!

This vessel is legal to conduct charters in the BVI. The crew are in the process of obtaining annual BVI work permits for the 2023/2024 season. BVI customs and cruising permit fees are included in the rate. Preferred pick up is St. Thomas. BVI pick ups are possible but limited to 7 per season. Thank you for a delightful and memorable week. You, sir, know your onions. We all had a blast. Zoe - Your cooking was outstanding and utterly scrumptious. Thank you for your hard and often quite hot work keeping us all so well fed. I could eat that key lime pie and poké bowl forever, though not mixed together that would be gross. Again, thank you for tasty food and good jokes.

Zoe was a superior Chef. Each meal was delicious. They were presented beautifully. And it didn't look like she was breaking a sweat. The worst planning decision on our part was eating ashore twice, and missing Zoe-meals!

We had two families spend 7 nights on board Rumba with Chef Zoe and Captain Paul sailing around the US and British Virgin islands. It was our first time chartering a sailboat and we did not know exactly what to expect. We had hopes of a relaxing vacation, with snorkeling, beaches, sailing, time to take photos, make memories, and we were not disappointed. The chef was fantastic with the kids, and kept them full of fruit, and other favorites. She did a great job of making food that satisfied the simple desires of the kids while also providing exciting meals for the adults. She also helped us learn how to tie up to a mooring ball. We love that she joined us on the longer cruises in the cockpit and allowed us to get to know her sailing adventures while we enjoyed the cruises. Our captain was a wealth of knowledge about the local history, plant and animal wildlife in the area, as well as the knowledge to keep the boat in great repair during the trip. He was extremely patient with our bountiful questions, our 5 energetic kids, and joined in the fun when we played games at night after dinner. The boat was large enough that we had plenty of beds for all seven of us and the crew, very comfortable, clean, and well stocked with necessities. We were happily surprised that they personalized each of our water bottles to use while on the boat each day. The kids enjoyed the water amenities available, floating mat, paddle boards, and all of the other features Rumba had to offer. Overall we had a blast, and the crew made us feel at home. It's the personal touches and lovable characters that the Rumba Crew were able to provide our families that truly made our trip. Thank you Zoe and Paul for helping to make our vacation so memorable.

Went on a great trip with 3 other business couples. Did the circuit of beautiful bays. Did a hike to a waterfall and were greeted by double rainbows. Enjoyed the really good meals and snacks created by chef and 1st mate Zoe. Captain Ian handled the boat like a pro, made everyone feel welcome and provided laughs and entertainment. My family and I stayed on Rumba for New Year’s week this year and had a fabulous time! Ian & Zoe were beyond amazing in making sure we got to see and do all of the things we wanted to while sailing through the USVI’s and BVI’s during this popular time of year. We saw so much and visited so many islands in just one week thanks to them! Additionally, they even helped plan a double engagement for my twin sister and I in Virgin Gorda, it was perfect! They went above and beyond to make sure that whole day went perfectly for us and we can’t thank them enough for that! Rumba itself made for a perfect boat for our family of 6. It was a gorgeous boat and had all the room for lounging, dining, and spending time with one another. Ian made sailing and water activities a blast. He was always up for anything and always had the gear/toys ready to go for us. He took us to some great spots! Zoe’s food was out of this world, constantly “wow”ing us with its uniqueness, tastefulness, and freshness. Each meal was carefully planned and executed, and she made sure our preferences we submitted pre-charter were seen/heard. They were the perfect pair to spend New Years with and it was a week we will truly never forget. We all agreed that the best part of the week (aside from getting engaged) was making two new friends!

First let me start with; if you have never sailed on a Catamaran “THIS IS A MUST DO!” on the “RUMBA” I was informed the Rumba has a new crew Ian “The Captain” and Zoe “The Chef”. I would have to say this new crew is amazing. I can’t say enough about Zoe’s cooking. I usually never eat fish but this trip I was open to trying new things. We had Snapper, Mahi-mahi, Lobster, Steak, and Grilled Hamburgers. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious. Thank you, Zoe, for all the amazing food plus your 5-star service. Ian not only was our Captain, but he doubled as our bartender making the most amazing mixed drinks, plus he kept us hydrated. LOL! I personally have a fear of deep water when I cannot see the bottom and Ian made it a point to make sure I always felt safe by swimming near me plus snorkeling. I wanted to try the underwater scooter and Ian went with me to make sure I comfortable and safe. Thank you again Ian and Zoe for your 5-star service and making our girl’s trip the best trip ever!

They didn’t miss a beat with meeting all of our needs during our vacation. They went above and beyond what I would have ever expected. The food was over the top amazing and was presented beautifully. Every meal was delicious and we had a wide variety of exciting dishes every day. Ian and Zoe were more than GREAT and I feel more then blessed to have gotten to spend the trip with them. This vacation was enjoyed to its fullest by each person in our group and it couldn’t have happened without these two. My bestfriend & I did this sailing excursion as part of our #BestieTrip weekend and it was well worth it! Ian was very nice, friendly, and accomodating. His boat was quite spacious and easy to move around on. We loved taking in the views of the ocean and the coastline of Venice and Santa Monica beaches, it was all so breathtaking. Great experience & would definitely recommend!
